Matt Riggle (whose bands’ songs have been in rotation on the playlist of my life for the last 30 years) and I are working together to put out a collection of his lyrics as poetry, preceded by a conversation between the two of us, coming out in Summer 2026.
You can check out covers and a blurb on each here

I’ve been making lots of wooden spoons lately, on top of my usual card practice. I’m making a bunch of a new coffee spoon size (1 tablespoon) along with my usual cooking spoon size. I’m mostly making them out of thick board of rough walnut that I think Peter gave to me. I’ll probably get more than 10 spoons out of that board… I’m enjoying the process though my snot is full of sawdust.
I know I say this a lot, but I might actually have them here to sell soon. -
ERIN CLARKE @
BOLD COFFEE and BOOKS
Friday May 8th @7pmErin Clarke will be reading from her new collection of poetry, Absolutely Always.
The collection is sweet and journalistic, taking a microscope to the countless inner joys of parenthood and spousedom. Putting music to the rhythm of the dishwasher spray and her husband’s breath. Gratitude eminates from the pages of this honest work, and reminds us that we are just squishy dream things in a magical world.
Getting Erin outside to read it in public is quite a feat in and of itself. Let’s make her nervous with the size of crowd that shows up.

Bold Coffee and Books is a great place to come check out a reading like this. They’re total pros at it, the space is so comfy, and the food and drink is just what you want as someone reads you some new poetry that didn’t exist until they made it. Erin and Friendly Monster Press are so excited to get to host an event at Bold.
